LOCAL LEP SCALEUP PROGRAMMES
Hertfordshire LEP believes that scaleups are the drivers of growth but are not achieving their full potential in its area.
In 2014 the county had 109 scaleups but the annual increase since has been below the national average despite having a highly skilled workforce, strong corporate sector and a start-up rate that is second only to London among LEPs.
The LEP is focusing its attention on overcoming some of the challenges of growing a business in Hertfordshire, specifically access to skills including leadership and management, access to finance, and access to markets.
Hertfordshire does not yet have a specific peer to peer network but the LEP recognises a network should be created and will develop one in 2018.
