Foresight is a sustainability-led alternative asset and SME investment manager with £12.6 billion in assets under management as of March 2024. It serves approximately 200 institutional and 29,000 private investors across its three divisions: Foresight Private Equity, Foresight Capital Management, and Foresight Infrastructure. Its continued growth has been driven by strategic investments such as the €300 million solar PV project in Greece and the first close of the Foresight Energy Infrastructure Partners II fund.
The Private Equity division manages £1.6 billion across 23 investment vehicles, spanning growth, venture and private credit strategies. It supports over 250 portfolio companies, typically investing between £1 million and £5 million in businesses with revenues from £2 million to £20 million. It also backs pre-revenue, high-tech ventures including university spinouts. With more than 50 investment professionals based across 12 offices in the UK and Ireland, Foresight maintains a strong regional presence. Fund launches in Wales, Northern Ireland and the North East underline its ongoing commitment to local economic growth.
Foresight’s VCT platform — comprising Foresight VCT Plc, Foresight Enterprise VCT Plc and Foresight Technology VCT Plc — supports a portfolio of over 40 high-growth, unquoted UK companies. In FY24, the group deployed £24 million across 44 venture deals and completed four exits, generating £66 million from an initial investment of £17 million. Scaleups it has supported include sports technology company ClubSpark, recruitment software Firefish, business intelligence Red Flag Alert, wealth manager Five Wealth and the street food restaurant chain Mowgli.
Sustainability remains central to Foresight’s strategy, with over 80% of investments aligned with international sustainability standards. The firm continues to pursue opportunities in energy transition and decarbonisation, further strengthening its position in impact-driven investing. Sector-agnostic by design, Foresight connects portfolio companies with its expert network and potential NEDs, and supports them through regular briefings, events, and a broad library of insights and research.
