Helm, formerly The Supper Club, is a membership community for entrepreneurial founders and CEOs of high-growth businesses, offering peer learning, networking, and access to experts and inspirational speakers since 2003. Its hybrid model combines in-person events with a digital platform, fostering collective experience and support among its members. Helm’s three-pronged support approach (Business Growth, Better Growth, and Personal Growth) emphasises business for good, health, wealth, and legacy.
The digital platform provides members with crowdsourced advice, curated introductions, and special interest groups. Members also have access to a library of expert-led events. Curated Forum groups, consisting of 6-8 founders and chaired by an experienced peer, meet ten times annually, acting as supportive non-executive boards. Helm offers personalised connections to help members overcome specific scaling challenges.
The community now brings together more than 400 founders and CEOs, with an average annual revenue of £21 million and a median of 77 employees. Over the past year, members achieved an average 28% revenue growth and a 24% increase in headcount, creating over 3,000 new jobs across the community. A total of 82% of founders said Helm directly accelerated their business growth, with 67% implementing strategic change, from funding to AI adoption, as a direct result of Helm events or introductions.
Members continue to report significant benefits from Helm’s collaborative model: 62% have gained mentors or advisors, 59% have secured new clients or partners, 41% found new suppliers, 15% received investor introductions, and 18% recruited new hires through the network.
Innovation remains central to the community, with 91% of members using AI in at least one business function, and more than one in ten operating as fully “native AI” companies. International expansion is also a defining feature: 76% of Helm members now operate or are expanding internationally, most commonly in Europe (70%), North America (64%), and the Middle East (40%).
Helm places strong emphasis on responsible and inclusive leadership. 21% of members are certified B Corps, more than double the UK average for scaleups, and female founders represent 15% of Helm’s membership, 10 times higher than the national average for female-led scaleups. Additionally, 95% of founders feel more supported in their leadership since joining Helm, 61% report time-saving efficiency gains, and 42% cite access to practical operational expertise.
“Being a Helm member opens up a world of great advice from brilliant people. Being an entrepreneur and building a business is really hard so being able to surround yourself with like minded people going through similar issues is incredibly helpful.”
