Newable Ventures (originally London Business Angels) backs entrepreneurs with a network of more than 500 early angel investors. The network invests via its own EIS evergreen fund, curating syndicates and engaging with co-investment partners. Focusing on early stage and scaling businesses in medtech, AI, space, robotics and industrial technologies.

Since January 2018 to June 2025, Newable has participated in 43 fundraisings in 34 companies. The average turnover of these companies were £23.3m with an average employee count of 40.

Investments in companies include companies like Sofant Technologies, a firm that develops miniature radio frequencies antennas and Delta-G, a firm that develops quantum gravity gradiometer technology. Newable has also invested in Inductosense, a scaleup that develops wireless sensing technology.

Newable has introduced three scale-up funds, one of which is the Newable Scale-up Fund 3. This fund addresses the financing gap faced by companies that have mitigated technology risks, gained customer traction, and now require funding to expand their commercial operations. It offers investors a diversified portfolio of seven to ten qualifying companies per investment.

Scale-up businesses can benefit from a wide range of support services provided by a team of business and innovation advisers. These services include assistance with business model innovation—helping to develop and implement models that are new to the firm—along with support for advancing new products or services, refining digital strategies, and achieving sales and growth goals. Additional support is available for Intellectual Property awareness and commercialisation, securing further funding (such as grants and other investors), investment readiness, and pitch preparation. Businesses can also receive advice on accessing international markets, including the creation of tailored export growth action plans, market insights, connections with overseas buyers and partners, participation in trade fairs, and specific programmes for female-led and diverse founders.

Newable (formerly London Business Angels) secured a new financing facility in August 2025 to support its ambitious growth plans. The broader Newable Ventures team, which focuses on early-stage and scaling businesses in sectors like MedTech, AI, space, and robotics, continued to execute its strategy of long-term investment and deep operational support, particularly for SMEs in the £1m – £5m EBITDA range and those in regulated B2B sectors. The company, which became 100% employee-owned in 2023, continued to emphasize its “Grow Together” value, assisting several portfolio companies with business transformation and refining their pitch for future funding rounds throughout 2025.
