Maven Capital Partners is a leading UK private equity and property manager that specializes in providing growth capital, management buyout (MBO), and VCT (Venture Capital Trust) funding to ambitious UK SMEs. Known for its strong regional presence and hands-on operational support, Maven focuses on driving growth for both its portfolio companies and its thousands of private and institutional investors.
It provides financial and strategic support to fast-growing businesses with revenues of at least £1m, supporting transactions from £100,000 up to £20m from a range of growth capital, private equity and regional funds. The firm currently runs four VCTs with each one containing more than 90 emerging businesses in its portfolio.
In 2025 Maven has remained highly active: publicly-recorded data shows a portfolio of 334 companies managed as of November 2025, covering 303 funding rounds and 31 acquisitions. Key investments this year include a £5 million Series A in cyber-security firm Approov Limited, led by Maven and enabling expansion of its mobile app/API security platform. Another notable deal was the £2.6 million investment in advanced laser-optics business PowerPhotonic Limited to scale UK/US operations.
Maven was appointed as investment manager for Maven Renovar VCT PLC (formerly Amati AIM VCT) effective 1 May 2025, marking a strategic repositioning of its VCT platform.
These developments reflect Maven’s ongoing commitment to growth-stage UK ventures, its strong deal momentum in deep-tech and regional markets, and its repositioning of key tax-efficient investment vehicles.
Maven also manages six regional funds that specialise in providing equity and/or debt finance to businesses across Scotland, the Midlands, South West, North West, and North East of England. Through Maven Investor Partners, it invests between £2m up to £20m in private equity finance for management teams and owners of established, profitable businesses.
Maven’s investment and portfolio executives provide the management teams of its investee companies with guidance to further develop their businesses. They provide direct input and support through strategic initiatives on international expansion, bolt-on acquisitions, talent recruitment, and driving operational efficiencies.
