Local LEP ScaleUp Programmes

Scaleups can access 2-12 hours of advice with a growth export and are signposted to a number of programmes. These include: Innovate 2 Succeed – a mentoring service to help SMEs enhance their innovative capabilities and exploit their ideas commercially; Get Growing which provides access to a Growth Account Manager who carries out an in-depth analysis of the business and puts a growth action plan in place and Business Expansion Grant Scheme – a capital grant scheme designed to help growing and scale up SMEs secure 50% grant funding to support major capital investment programmes to boost productive and digital capacity.

The LEP also provides a Low Carbon Innovation Fund II with £11m co-investment fund to help close private equity funding rounds worth at least £30m. LCIF2 invests in early and late stage ventures that make measurable reductions to Greenhouse Gas emissions, with the creation of financial return and sustainability as the fund’s primary objectives.

The LEP will continue to concentrate on scale-ups in addition to supporting the establishment and growth of start-ups. Work is underway on implementing a new Recovery Plan that focuses on skills, green investment and a targeted financial stimulus to get the Hertfordshire economy firmly back on the route to recovery.
