Local LEP ScaleUp Programmes

The Humber LEP Business Growth Hub offers a full diagnostic service helping to identify fast-growing businesses with advisors referring clients to a range of solutions including three schemes under the #GrowMySME Programme. These are: The Business Growth Scheme for comprehensive wrap-around support to aid growth-driven businesses; the ICT for Growth Scheme delivering specialist support to aid the introduction of digital technology; and the Finance for Growth Scheme to help growing businesses diagnose, understand and access suitable growth finance.

The ScaleUp Business Development Programme launched in October 2019 provides a variety of support including one-to-one coaching, specialist masterclasses, facilitated peer learning and digital content drops. It is open to SMEs that have demonstrable opportunities to scale, that trade on a predominantly B2B basis, and with a minimum of 5 FTE staff. To date, it has supported 20 businesses across four cohorts, with alumni accessing new markets and contracts, developing new products and services and creating jobs. The Programme is due to run until September 2021 and can support a further 58 scaleups in that time.

Businesses of any sector can access support to the Supply Chain Network to identify supply chain opportunities, receive a diagnostic of their barriers to winning more work, and become awarded both public and private procurement opportunities. Finally, the Humber has a capital grants scheme aimed at supporting companies with their physical growth plans.
