Local LEP ScaleUp Programmes

Solent LEP has now implemented a new organisational structure, enhancing and harmonising the business support and skills support available through the LEP. It provides a Growth Accelerator programme which offers 12 hours of intensive 1:1 support delivered by experienced growth coaches. Graduates of the programme take away a detailed growth action plan which may include an application for funding or finance. A Mentoring for Growth programme is delivered in partnership with Be the Business providing businesses with expert mentors for 12 months. The LEP is participating in the peer network programme while Maritime UK Solent holds monthly networking meetings for the local marine and maritime cluster

The LEP is working on a capital programme of schemes to kick start recovery. It has awarded the University of Portsmouth £3.6M towards the development of a Centre for Creative and Immersive eXtended Reality which will deliver 12 state-of-the-art XR laboratories with specialist equipment that will be used for business engagement, technical support, applied research projects and skills training. The investment will support 800 businesses, create 200 new jobs and support 500 learners through courses and workshops.
