Bruntwood SciTech’s Alderley Park provides over 1m sq ft of state-of-the-art office and lab space to a vibrant and fast-growing community of life sciences, tech, and innovation businesses. Home to more than 250 companies, from early-stage ventures to established scaleups, the Park offers access to cutting-edge facilities, a specialist sector network, and national investor connections. As the UK’s largest single-site life sciences campus, Alderley Park is a key hub for research, development, and commercialisation, supporting businesses at every stage of growth.
With £500 million of additional investment, Bruntwood SciTech has expanded its innovation ecosystem, ensuring companies have the infrastructure, expertise, and funding pathways needed to scale. In 2023 alone, businesses at Alderley Park secured nearly £50 million in R&D-linked funding. The Park provides flexible coworking laboratories, fully serviced office space, and access to highly specialised scientific facilities, from surgery suites and bio-imaging to level 2 containment and dedicated vivarium space. Through its accelerator programmes, strategic partnerships, and investment initiatives, Alderley Park continues to drive the success of high-growth businesses in the sector.
The Life Science Accelerator, launched this year, will support over 60 entrepreneurs through boot camps, workshops, free lab access, and flexible funding for 16 companies. Developed in collaboration with Cancer Research Horizons, ThermoFisher, Marks & Clerk, and venture capital partners, the programme has already attracted R&D companies from across the UK and Europe. Additionally, businesses at Alderley Park and across the wider region can apply for funding of between £50k and £2m through the Greater Manchester & Cheshire Life Science Fund, managed by Praetura and backed by Bruntwood SciTech, GMCA, and Cheshire & Warrington LEP.
Bruntwood SciTech also continues to champion female entrepreneurship through its Female Founders’ Incubator, now in its third year. The latest cohort, based at Alderley Park, is supporting over 30 female-led businesses with tailored mentoring, funding guidance, and market access. The programme has helped participating businesses secure investment, expand their teams, and enter new markets, further strengthening the UK’s life sciences and tech ecosystem.
