The Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC), established in 2010, is a leading UK research and technology organization focused on advancing manufacturing processes and technologies. Located in Coventry, the MTC collaborates with industry, academia, and other institutions to bridge the gap between university-based research and the development of innovative manufacturing solutions. The centre houses state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, supporting sectors such as aerospace, automotive, and construction.
In 2024, the MTC expanded its research capabilities by investing over £700,000 to co-fund nine PhD programmes, aiming to secure future technologies for the UK’s manufacturing industry. Additionally, the MTC has been instrumental in developing the ‘Factory in a Box’ concept, demonstrating how advanced industrial digital technologies can benefit manufacturers and their supply chains. These initiatives highlight the MTC’s commitment to driving innovation and enhancing the competitiveness of UK manufacturing.
