The National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS), located in Renfrewshire, is a collaborative hub where industry, academia, and the public sector unite to drive manufacturing innovation and enhance workforce skills. In June 2023, NMIS officially opened its flagship facility within the Advanced Manufacturing Innovation District Scotland (AMIDS), aiming to stimulate economic growth and support sustainable communities.
Furthering its commitment to sustainability, NMIS announced in November 2024 the establishment of the £5.5 million ReMake Value Retention Centre (RVRC). This centre focuses on promoting circular economy practices by refurbishing and remanufacturing industrial components, thereby reducing waste and emissions. These initiatives underscore NMIS’s role in advancing Scotland’s manufacturing capabilities and contributing to the UK’s net-zero objectives.
