The Nuclear Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (Nuclear AMRC) is a UK-based facility dedicated to enhancing the capabilities and competitiveness of the nuclear manufacturing supply chain. In July 2024, researchers at the centre demonstrated a new AI-based system designed to rapidly identify attempted cyber-attacks on nuclear power plants, showcasing their commitment to integrating advanced technologies for industry safety and efficiency.
Additionally, the Nuclear AMRC has been actively involved in supporting the development of small modular reactors (SMRs), collaborating with various industry partners to advance this innovative nuclear technology. These initiatives highlight the centre’s role in driving innovation and supporting the UK’s nuclear energy sector.
