The Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) Catapult, established in 2013, serves as the UK’s leading technology innovation and research centre for offshore renewable energy, focusing on wind, wave, and tidal power. Its mission is to accelerate the development and commercialization of these technologies, thereby contributing to the UK’s net-zero targets. In June 2024, ORE Catapult published its “Our Impact” report, highlighting significant achievements over the past decade. The report details advancements in technology reliability, cost reductions, and the growth of the offshore renewable energy sector, underscoring ORE Catapult’s pivotal role in transforming the UK’s energy landscape.

Additionally, ORE Catapult’s Fit 4 Offshore Renewables (F4OR) programme has been instrumental in preparing the UK supply chain for opportunities in the expanding offshore renewable energy sector, as detailed in their February 2024 impact report. These initiatives reflect ORE Catapult’s ongoing commitment to fostering innovation, supporting industry growth, and driving the UK towards a sustainable energy future.
