Phoenix Court Group is a London-based, multi-stage venture capital firm that transitioned in 2022 from primarily a seed investor (formerly LocalGlobe) into a lifestage tech investor with a four-pronged fund strategy and a mission to support European founders from pre-seed to the public markets and beyond. The Group, which manages over $500 million in capital, is dedicated to addressing the underinvestment and funding gap in the European ecosystem, often referred to as the “New Palo Alto”. Its structure includes: LocalGlobe (pre-seed/seed), Latitude (breakout/early growth), Solar (scale-up and pre-IPO), and Basecamp (a community fund investing in emerging managers globally).
Through Basecamp, Phoenix Court has built an extensive international network of more than 50 emerging fund managers, angels, and solo general partners across Africa, Asia-Pacific, India, Israel, Europe, and the United States. This ecosystem approach enables the Group to identify and back promising founders from the earliest stages, while strengthening links between regional innovation hubs worldwide. LocalGlobe, the seed-stage arm of Phoenix Court, has been instrumental in nurturing high-growth potential firms, having supported 14 companies that went on to achieve unicorn status, demonstrating a consistent ability to identify and scale global category leaders from the UK and Europe.
Alongside its investment activity, the Phoenix Court Works Foundation extends the Group’s impact beyond financial returns, having supported more than 23 community organisations including a community garden, a local food bank, and the neighbourhood primary school. This underlines Phoenix Court’s wider mission to contribute to inclusive growth and sustainable development, ensuring that its success as an investor also delivers tangible benefits to the communities in which it operates.
In the period between 2018 to June 2025, Phoenix Court Group participated in 175 fundraising rounds in 123 UK companies. The average turnover of those companies was £98.0m and their average number of employees was 162. Phoenix Court Group has continued to invest in scaleups such as in 2025, when they invested in Xelix, a firm that develops AI software for accounting wherein Passion Capital participated in a funding round worth £118m, and Pragmatic in late 2023, a manufacturer of semiconductors wherein Phoenix Court Group participated in a £162m funding round.
Phoenix Court Group has reinforced its position as a leading European venture capital firm in 2025 by securing a top industry ranking and maintaining a high volume of deal activity across its multi-stage fund structure. In August 2025, the firm, home to its four funds LocalGlobe, Latitude, Solar, and Basecamp, was ranked the number one venture investor in EMEA for backing high-growth companies at Seed stage by Dealroom, with the ranking emphasising actual fundamentals like revenue growth over purely speculative valuations. This ranking aligns with the firm’s long-term goal of fostering European “Thoroughbreds” (companies generating $100 million or more in annual revenue).
