Republic Europe, formerly known as Seeders, continues to lead in pan-European equity crowdfunding. Since launching in 2012, the platform has facilitated investments exceeding £2.9 billion, supporting 2,290 deals to date. Between January 2016 and June 2024, the average amount raised per deal remained at £962,000, with half of the 1,565 fundraising deals being in the growth stage, underlining its ongoing importance to scaling businesses.

In the 12 months leading up to June 2024, a number of notable scaleups have utilised Seedrs to secure funding, including fintech company Glint, digital bank Tandem, and the online marketplace Landbay. This highlights the platform’s continued appeal to growing businesses from diverse sectors. The 919 UK companies had an average turnover of £58.5m and 35 average employment.

To further enhance liquidity for investors, Republic Europe has facilitated trading for more than 880 companies on its secondary market. £25.6 million has been traded, allowing investors to sell shares in private companies, offering additional flexibility for retail investors seeking exits.

Republic Europe has also diversified its platform offerings by introducing venture fund LP opportunities, providing retail investors with the chance to invest in venture capital funds. A partnership with Passion Capital for its third fund was a key early example of this new initiative, helping to broaden the scope of investment options available to Seedrs users.

In addition, Republic publishes its annual “State of the Investor” report, providing insights into trends and retail investor attitudes. The company is also a signatory to the Women in Finance Charter, reinforcing its commitment to gender diversity within the finance sector.

For companies that have been successfully funded via the platform, the programme offers an Alumni Club, which includes access to a supportive community, exclusive resources, curated events, and discounts. This network serves as an invaluable asset to Republic-funded businesses as they continue to grow and scale.
