Republic Europe is a leading digital private equity and investment platform that operates in the UK, having rebranded from Seedrs following its acquisition by US-based Republic. It offers a crucial service for both investors and companies, allowing retail investors to invest in private, growth-stage companies across various sectors while enabling companies to raise capital through innovative crowdfunding methods.

Between 2018 and June 2025, the fund participated in 1,534 fundraisings to 895 UK-based companies, with an average turnover of £17m with an average of 17 employees. Notable scaleups withing Republic Europe’s portfolio inculde TransferGo, a firm that operates an online payment system, and Salocombe Gin, a firm that operates a gin distillery.

Republic Europe publishes its annual “State of the Investor” report, providing insights into trends and retail investor attitudes. The company is also a signatory to the Women in Finance Charter, reinforcing its commitment to gender diversity within the finance sector.

For companies that have been successfully funded via the platform, the programme offers an Alumni Club, which includes access to a supportive community, exclusive resources, curated events, and discounts. This network serves as an invaluable asset to Republic-funded businesses as they continue to grow and scale.

Republic Europe (formerly Seedrs) has focused on enhancing liquidity and accessibility for UK retail investors in 2025 by making significant improvements to its Secondary Market. The most notable update is the shift to a 24/7, 365-day operation for the Secondary Market Bulletin Board, which immediately resulted in increased trading, with £1m transacted in May alone. Furthermore, the firm launched Mirror Notes in September 2025, a product designed to allow UK retail investors to access the performance of private companies that were previously available only to institutional or accredited investors, thereby strengthening its role as a key gateway for private market investment in the UK. Looking ahead to 2026, Republic Europe plans to broaden its private markets offering even further, with an emphasis on improving access for growth-stage and scaleup businesses seeking capital from retail investors.
