The Satellite Applications Catapult, established in 2012, is a UK-based innovation and technology company dedicated to accelerating the growth of the satellite applications sector. Its mission is to drive the sustainable, commercial expansion of the UK space industry, positioning it as a catalyst for economic growth. Since its inception, the Catapult has supported 836 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), facilitated 508 industry collaborations, and engaged in 242 academic partnerships. It has also participated in 111 international projects and invested over £15 million in research and development facilities.

With a team of 210 employees as of 2023, the Catapult focuses on four key missions: Beyond Our Earth, Our Connected & Autonomous Earth, Our Sustainable Earth, and Adopting a Mission-Oriented Innovation Approach. These initiatives aim to harness satellite technology to address global challenges and stimulate economic growth.By fostering collaboration between industry, academia, and government, the Satellite Applications Catapult plays a pivotal role in advancing the UK’s position in the global space sector.
