WMG, an academic department of the University of Warwick, is a leading industrial research and education group and a key centre within the High Value Manufacturing (HVM) Catapult. Established in 1980, WMG collaborates with industry to drive innovation across sectors such as automotive, aerospace, and healthcare. In the 2023-2024 academic year, WMG welcomed a record number of degree apprentices, with 215 students enrolling in its BEng Applied Professional Engineering Programme and BSc Digital and Technology Solutions courses.

Additionally, WMG has been instrumental in developing sustainable technologies, including the Waste2Race project—a hydrogen-powered supercar utilizing recycled materials and aiming to set new land speed records. These initiatives underscore WMG’s commitment to advancing manufacturing excellence and education within the HVM Catapult framework.
